German manufacturers will be sending two BMW M8 GTEs to IMSA WSC this year to run by long-time Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. The new M8 GTE will face the GTLM's Ford, Corvette, Porsche, and Ferrari.

Weve been yearning for a new BMW 8 Series for years, and now its finally here, having debuted at the 2018 24 Hours of Daytona. One of the best parts about Daytona is the ability to get up close to the different cars and look at all of the interesting parts.

Official drivers of the No. 24 car are Jesse Krohn and John Edwards, while Alexander Sims, partner of Connor de Phillippi will be driving on the 25th car. During Daytona's 24-hour race, members of the MTEK team at BMW WEC World Car Endurance Racing Team will also attend.

From the appearance, the BMW M8 GTE car uses a large number of the aerodynamic package. The exaggerated inlet on the front has a very aggressive look, while the huge tail and rear diffuser are also declaring their pure racing identity. The combination of front, rear lights, and car angel led lights on these super racing cars is flatter and more visually stunning than any other model currently on sale from BMW and may signal some design thinking of the BMW model in the future.

To meet the rules of the race, BMW M8 GTE racing car, therefore, it is equipped with BMW V8 twin turbocharged engine whose displacement will be limited to 4.0 liters, its rated output power or more than 500 horsepower, and the transmission system uses a 6 Speed Series gearbox.
