Super cheap but useful tool that you gotta know!

Today we 'll talk about a tool which is extremely important to solve electrical problems of the car so much more easily, this tool is the car circuit tester.It’s also called the test lamp or the current tester, which is very useful for mechanical-electrical diagnosing problems. This tool is extremely cheap but quite necessary to keep one in your car.

The lamp test is to check whether the cables or power lines are properly connecting cars, and it also used to verify the existence of current or dirt on them. More than that, it can be used for installations of electrical accessories such as car headlights, horns and lights in general.

The Test lamp consists of the following parts:

1.Main cable length to reach broad accessories that are farther away.

2.Harness alligator allows secure attachment.

3.Needle-like tip that helps us make cable testing without having to cut or peel them.

Lamp test can be used to detect positive or negative signals feeding accessories electrical circuits.

Other uses

We can also use the test lamp when we have troubles in open the circuit. We connect the alligator of our test lamp in order to detect positive signals with the lamp (do not forget to test first touching the tip a positive signal cable or the positive pole of the battery).To do so, follow the wiring line starting from the positive signal (can be the positive post of the battery or the outlet connection of the electrical circuit).If the light of the test lamp is on, that means this cable is in contact with earth or negative signal. If not, it means you are not active.

There are occasions in which the wiring lines are difficult to follow inch due to its interaction with other cables or parts of difficult access, in this case we must pay close attention to the colors and thickness of the wires we are following. Electrical wiring is identified by color (single color or combination of colors) in order to identify the cable between the other remaining. (eg:identify after traversing a firewall wall).

As we can see, the test lamp is very efficient to detect signals in the electrical wiring of the car, this will help us and facilitate the work when we are looking for an electrical fault.
