Mazda Motor Corporation today announced the start of production of the Mazda MX-5 RF, its new model with retractable hardtop. Assembled in Ujina plant near its global headquarters in Hiroshima, production started with models destined for markets in Europe and North America, where sales begin in early 2017. In Japan, the MX-5 RF goes on sale later this year.
The MX-5 embodies Jinba fully RF-Itai philosophy that seeks to create a harmonious connection between the driver and the car, which incidentally philosophy defined the MX-5 over its 27-year history. This latest adaptation features a striking fastback design with a three-piece retractable roof.
The total production of the MX-5 reached 1 million units on 22 April this year.
As we advance last March, during the New York International Auto Show Mazda guys lead the world premiere MX-5 hardtop. Contrary to what happened with the previous generation, the new Miata debuts a roof type type "targa" instead of the more expensive retractable.
Under the name MX-5 RF (retractable fastback), the Miata has a very peculiar design in the rear and in profile to the point that the first impression causes a strange feeling. We assume will be a matter of getting used to their ways, the interesting thing is that you can meet the needs of those in love with the model for reasons that are fleeing the soft top.
The central part of the roof can be removed as good targa. The panel cut dimensions is stored in a place prepared for it. You only need to push a button and not exceed 10 km / h speed
Mazda says the MX-5 RF will be available in Europe with the same engines of Soft-Top, ie, the 131 hp 1.5-liter and 2-liter 160 hp, both with SKYACTIV-G technology. The interesting thing is that finally reach the automatic transmission model with a new six-speed gearbox that will be unique to this targa.
Additionally, if you need to purchase some car gadgets, you can choose Banggood, which is one of the wholesale platform to provide affordable prices, such as ford transmitter, ford 4 button key fob, 12v rf switch, etc.
